We are sorry to confirm that Wiltshire Council has approved the Reserved Matters related to the Bellway application, i.e. scale, design, density, materials, layout etc. Despite extensive opposition from local residents, Friends of Woolley and the Town Council that means the development will go ahead. The Town Council has published a statement objecting to the way the decision was reached and we await further developments.
Friends of Woolley and others have protested against the way the developer’s agents have cut down the hedge along Cemetery Lane in contravention of the planning conditions. Wiltshire Council’s enforcement department have undertaken to ask the developer to restore the damage by new planting and planting mature trees once the development has officially started.
In the light of these recent precipitate actions we should all be vigilant as the development proceeds and report any possible infringements of planning conditions to Enforcement at Wiltshire Council or to Friends of Woolley.
